Public Safety First

I am proud to stand with the brave men and women of law enforcement in our shared commitment to safe and secure communities.”

As I worked to purge corruption and bring reforms to the City of Bell, I was proud to stand with local police officers to bring change. They were clear that corrupt and inefficient local government was a threat to public safety. We both agreed. We both fought.  And the people won.

As your Assembly member, I will form an equally strong alliance with statewide law enforcement. I want to ensure that they have the resources to fight and prevent crime. I will not stand by as politicians seek to balance the budget on the backs of public safety while the same politicians continue to take perks and campaign contributions from corporations who are making record profits.

That’s wrong, hurts our communities and it needs to change..

Here is on example about budget cuts putting our communities in harm’s way. Public safety experts say that budget cuts will eliminate the Megan’s Law Task Force that protects our children from sexual predators. What kind of priorities do our legislators have anyway?

P.S. By the way, if you clicked and read the article, I agree with Governor Brown’s spokesperson that the real culprits are legislators without a spine.
